Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Signalio is a crisis alerting service. It is only useful if everyone can use it — including people using a screen reader, working keyboard-only, or relying on larger text and high contrast. We aim for conformance with WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Current status

The site is in PARTIAL conformance with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Automated testing with axe-core reports no critical or serious violations on any of the main pages. We do not claim full conformance because automated tools only cover part of the criteria, and manual screen-reader testing is not yet complete for every screen.

What is already in place

• A "skip to main content" link at the top of every page.
• Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator on interactive elements.
• Semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a logical heading hierarchy.
• The page language is declared correctly (lang="bg", or lang="en").
• Text alternatives for informative images.
• Support for the reduced-motion preference (prefers-reduced-motion).
• Form fields have associated labels and errors are announced to screen readers.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and state them openly:

• The map is inherently visual. For people who cannot use it, the same alerts are available as text in the alerts list.
• Manual screen-reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver) has been done for the main pages but not for every account and admin screen.
• Content from external sources (for example alert titles from institutions) is published as received and is sometimes entirely in capitals.
